Well, two of my friends, Karl Enguerra and Nathan Wiens have been on me to make the switch to Mac from PC. They are diehard Mac guys….well, Karl should be since he works at Apple. We use a Mac in the Worship Center and it works great, but I had a bad experience with Macs at my last church….mainly because they weren’t installed properly and no-one knew how to really configure them well for a business network.
My Dell finally quit on me a couple of weeks ago. It won’t power up and I called Dell. They told me, after being on hold for one hour, that it would run over 1000 dollars because the whole mother board would need to be replaced. With that news, I decided to look into a Mac. I called Karl and he helped me get one at a discount. It’s the 17″ MacBook Pro and it rocks! It is about one inch thick and weighs maybe 4 lbs. I also got a program called Parallels and I can run Window’s Vista. In fact, Vista runs better and faster on the Mac!
It took me awhile to switch…..but I’m ready to submit now. Karl and Nathan….I Believe You!
as a side note…..go to www.apple.com and watch all the Mac/PC commercials. Absolutely hilarious!

Darren, the drummer in our worship band, and I treked to Santa Cruz Friday night to see none other than Foreigner. Granted, all the original members aren’t with them anymore, but Mick Jones (founding guitar player) is still with them. He also has some real heavyweights playing with him. On bass was Jeff Pilson, formally of Dokken fame and on drums was none other than Jason Bonham (John Bonham’s son..of Led Zeppelin).
When I was young and went to rock shows, I was always thinking how much older the band was than me….it was no different this time. Darren and I were truely worried about Mick Jones….he looked like he was going to keel over from heat exhaustion…even though he was putting on a great show.
They did all the hits…..Cold as Ice, Feels Like the First Time, Blue Morning, Jukebox Hero, Urgent, Waiting for a Girl Like You, Say You Will, Double Vision, Head Games…and list goes on and on.
Great show….I enjoyed it…..now if I could just get that ringing in my ears to stop!

So now I know what it’s like to live inside the freezer. We arrived in Chicago for the Willow Creek Leadership Conference training and the temp was 1 degree! Yep, that’s right….a balmy 1 degree over zero. Of course with the wind it felt like 13 below! Funny how it would be warmer in my freezer at home! Today it really warmed up to 5 degrees.
Also just crossed off Chicago of possible places to live in my lifetime…….burrrrrrrr!
