I had the privlege of taking Carson on a trip my Dad had taken me on a couple of decades ago. We drove down to the Four Corners area and spent three days at The San Juan river in New Mexico. The San Juan is known as one of the top trout streams in North America. Because of the constant flow and temps there, the fish grow to huge proportions. The afternoon we got there, we grabbed dinner real quick, checked in and then hit the river for an hour. The next day we met up with our guide, Mark Nesbitt with his driftboat and we spent the day going downstream fishing. What a great time with my oldest!

Cooling off his backside!

End of the fishing….time for the drive home
On the drive home, we stopped at several places sightseeing….Durango, Silverton, an old mine and Fort Carson in Colorado Springs…

We drove the Rover up an old rock trail on top of some mine tailings where an old silver mine once was. If you look in the background, you can see other tailings from old mines on the hillside. We drove up about 500 feet….VERY off-road!

The (Kit) Carson memorial at Fort Carson….haha Carson!
